A Magnificent Ancient Roman Bronze Helmeted Bust Of Mars On An Open Socle Base.  Circa Late 2nd/3rd Century AD.

Depicted as the youthful god, clean-shaven and wearing a high-crested Corinthian type plume on a tight fitting helmet. He is shown in body armour and with a medallion at his neck. Mars was the Roman god of war and his counterpart was the goddess Minerva.
